These Frisco homeowners wanted one bright, calm floor across their whole first floor, but they were starting with a patchwork of carpet and tile. We pulled it all out, about 790 square feet of tile plus the carpet and pad, and gave this Frisco home new engineered white oak flooring: Regal Hardwoods Stately in Ryland, a light-toned oak with soft, natural grain that makes every room feel bigger and brighter.

Taking out tile leaves thinset ridges and low spots behind, so before a single board went down, our crew ground the slab flat. That prep is what lets a glue-down floor sit tight and quiet for years. From there we glued down about 1,840 square feet of 7 1/2-inch-wide planks, most of them a full 75 inches long, and finished the rooms with new baseboards.
